Welcome Message from the President of the International Society of Oral Care

On behalf of the International Society of Oral Care (ISCO), it is my great pleasure, as President, together with Professor Narikazu Uzawa, Congress President of the 7th Annual Meeting, to welcome you to Osaka, Japan, in April 2027.

Oral care is much more than simply keeping the mouth clean and comfortable. It helps maintain healthy gums and teeth, supports essential daily functions such as eating, drinking, and speaking, and contributes to the prevention of various systemic diseases, including myocardial infarction, stroke, and diabetes. Recent studies have also shown that good oral care may help reduce the risk of infectious diseases such as influenza and even lower the risk of preterm birth. In this way, oral care plays an increasingly important role in maintaining overall health, promoting healthy longevity, and protecting the health of future generations.

Around the world, the importance of oral care is becoming increasingly recognized as a mainstream of medicine. A growing body of scientific evidence has demonstrated the close relationship between oral health and general health. With this in mind, Professor Uzawa and his colleagues are preparing this meeting with the aim of promoting oral care that supports resilience of not only physical health, but also mental well-being. We warmly invite you to join us for this special meeting and to share this exciting opportunity to learn, connect, and exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world.

Osaka also provides a wonderful setting for the meeting. The Osaka City Central Public Hall, our conference venue, is one of Osaka’s most iconic historic buildings and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. We hope you will enjoy the scientific program while also experiencing the beautiful architecture and atmosphere of this historic venue.

We look forward to welcoming you to Osaka for an inspiring and memorable 7th Annual Meeting of ISCO. Together, let us share knowledge, exchange ideas, and take the next step toward advancing oral health and science.
Warm regards,
